Depending on who is testing, when the mattress is tested, or what personal preferences prevail, the product may receive different \u201dratings\u201d. Therefore, subjective assessments must be abandoned in favour of relevant objective standards. <\/span><\/p>

To provide a clear picture of a mattress's properties, a number of standards have been developed that present comparable results impartially and objectively. By demanding standardised tests and asking precise questions, subjective assessments are avoided, thereby reducing the risk of unfair comparisons and incorrect purchases.<\/p>

A hybrid mattress is a foam mattress combined with air cells. The foam often has drilled spaces for air cells. It is common for the air cells to have a foam inside to manage air in and out of the cell. When we developed our hybrid mattress, Air1, we chose a different solution.<\/span><\/p>

Air1 has interconnected air cells without foam. This allows air to be pushed out from the most pressure-exposed areas to areas with lower pressure when the patient lies down on the mattress. This is something we consider to offer several advantages and tests according to the measurement method SS 876 00 13<\/span> confirms the mattress's ability to deliver consistently low back pressure across the entire lying surface.<\/p>

What is the significance of your hygiene mattresses having a laminated surface (Lentex)? <\/div><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg><\/span>\n\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg><\/span>\n\t\t<\/span>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/summary>\n\t\t\t\t

Unlike traditional care mattresses with loose covers, the Lentex mattress has a liquid-tight outer surface laminated directly onto the core. This means that the mattress completely lacks seams and zips where dirt and bacteria can otherwise accumulate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The construction allows the mattress to be cleaned and disinfected directly on the bed. This means that staff no longer have to handle loose and potentially contaminated covers, which improves the working environment while also saving time and resources for the facility.<\/p>\n

A well-constructed pressure-relieving mattress has low back pressure across its entire surface \u2013 even under the heel. If the mattress has a high-quality foam core that provides even and low back pressure for protruding body parts, there is usually no need for a built-in, specific heel zone.
The need for a separate comfort layer can, conversely, be an indication that the mattress's basic construction does not provide sufficient pressure relief across the entire sleeping surface.<\/strong><\/p>

Achieving total heel relief in specific cases where care requires zero pressure (for example, in the case of incipient ulcers) is purely a matter of positioning. This is best achieved with specialised positioning products, regardless of the mattress design. The mattress providing an even and low counter-pressure as a base is the best indicator of good, overall pressure distribution.<\/p>

An evacuation cover must have sewn-on straps to withstand heavy loads in an emergency. However, these seams create small needle holes in the fabric where liquid risks penetrating and destroying the foam core. To prevent this, we use a Lentex mattress (with an integrated outer layer) inside the cover.<\/span><\/p>\n

This provides a double protective barrier. If liquid penetrates the cover's seams, it is stopped by the Lentex surface. Instead of discarding a contaminated mattress, staff can easily clean the Lentex surface and wash the cover separately.<\/p>\n
