Melissa Parad

Pressure redistribution up to Category 3

Based on documented low interface pressure, the Melissa Parad is engineered to support the prevention and therapeutic management of pressure ulcers up to and including Category 3.

Engineered for Pressure Redistribution and Sitting Function

The foam core consists of two layers of carefully selected foam types. Together with our RX cover, this provides conditions for excellent pressure distribution. With a documented low pressure for protruding body parts, such as heels and shoulders, no separate heel zone is required.
The mattress has successfully completed fatigue testing in accordance with standard SS 876 00 11. It is therefore verified to maintain its clinical performance and structural integrity during articulated seating positions with an elevated backrest.

Tailored cover options for specialised applications.

The Melissa Parad is supplied with a cover from the RX series—a range of medical covers manufactured from a vapour-permeable, waterproof, and low-noise two-way stretch polyurethane fabric.
All covers feature an integrated protective zip flap.

  • RX-5 standard cover *
  • RXH-5 featuring integrated carrying handles for ease of transport.*
  • RXI-5 featuring an integrated evacuation functionality.
  • RXS-5 with elastic (for the mattress topper) *

* Available with welded seams and a water-resistant zip (-W).

STANDARD FOR OBJECTIVE EVALUATION

To obtain an objective assessment of mattresses' pressure distribution properties, RISE[1] developed a measurement method where the actual counter-pressure exerted by a mattress is measured using indenters. The measurement method is described in Swedish standard SS 876 00 13.
Melissa Parad has been tested by RISE[1] according to measurement method SS 876 00 13 and is pressure-distributing up to wound category 3.

FAQ

Which wound category is Melissa Parad for?

Melissa Parad is specially formulated to prevent and treat pressure ulcers up to and including category 3.

No, thanks to the documented low pressure and the combination of high-quality cold foam and hypersoft foam, the mattress provides excellent relief for vulnerable areas such as heels and shoulders without the need for additional zones.

Yes, the mattress has been tested for its functional properties and follows the bed's movements well, making it ideal for patients who require a raised back position.

It comes standard with the RX cover, but for environments with a high risk of infection or the need for rapid evacuation, we recommend the RXI cover with a built-in evacuation function.
