Magma Plus

A mattress specially designed for demanding environments with an increased fire risk.

Magma Plus is a hygienic mattress designed for environments with very stringent fire safety requirements. It is particularly suitable for use in remand centres, psychiatric clinics and treatment centres, where the mattress meets some of the world’s most stringent fire safety requirements.

Designed for maximum safety and suicide prevention

In demanding healthcare environments, physical safety is a critical factor. Magma Plus has been designed with a focus on minimising risks:

Seamless design: The welded cover has no seams, which is a specific design feature intended to make suicide attempts more difficult.
Prevention of vandalism: The seamless surface also makes it more difficult for users who wish to hide objects inside the mattress with the intention of causing harm to themselves or others.

A robust hygiene barrier and protection against contamination

The mattress acts as an effective barrier in environments subject to heavy wear and tear and with high hygiene standards:

Liquid-tight: A classic full-size mattress for standard needs.
Pest control: The seamless, closed construction prevents bedbugs and lice from getting into the foam core.

Simple and safe cleaning procedures

To make day-to-day work easier and maintain high standards of hygiene, Magma Plus is optimised for sanitisation:

Cleaning The fabric is extremely hard-wearing and has been specially designed to make deliberate vandalism more difficult.
Disinfection: The material is completely liquid-proof, which protects the core and makes the mattress very easy to clean and disinfect
Maintenance:To extend the product’s lifespan, the surface should always be wiped dry with a cloth after cleaning

CERTIFIED FIRE SAFETY AND TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE

Inside the mattress is a core of 35 kg/m³ HR foam, which provides good support. Both the foam core and the outer material have been tested to meet the most stringent requirements. The mattress complies with all fire safety standards known to us worldwide.

Brand Standard The foam core complies with SS 876 00 10:2016. The entire mattress has been tested and approved in accordance with test method NT-Fire 055 and EN 597-1 & 2.
Pressure Test: The product has been tested in accordance with SS 876 00 13 to ensure it functions correctly under load.
Certification: The product is CE-marked.

Why is Magma Plus particularly suitable for psychiatric care and remand centres?

The mattress is specially designed for environments where there are extreme requirements in terms of both fire safety and physical security. The seamless surface makes suicide attempts more difficult and makes it harder to hide objects in or under the mattress.

How do I clean and disinfect the Magma Plus properly?

Soap-based cleaning products can be used for daily cleaning. If disinfection is required, alcohol-based cleaning products containing surfactants are recommended. It is important to always wipe the surface dry with a cloth afterwards to preserve the quality of the material.

Which fire safety standards does Magma Plus comply with?
