The Brand Special Mattress forms part of a comprehensive range of products designed for fire-safe care. It has been specially developed for use in demanding environments where there is an increased risk of fire and where the requirements for durability and safety are extremely high.
The main purpose of the Specialmadrass Brand is to actively reduce the risk of a fire breaking out in the first place, regardless of the external cause. By using materials with a proven high level of fire protection, a safer environment is created for both staff and patients in settings that require extra vigilance.

Our mattresses in the range for increased fire risk have been tested in accordance with strict international standards. Magma and Magma Plus comply with, amongst others, SS 876 00 10:2016 and EN 597-1 & 2. The Special Mattress Fire also complies with BS 6807:2006 Crib 7 and FAR 25.853.
The three-part design has been developed to enhance security in specific environments, such as detention centres. As the mattress is divided into sections, it is more difficult to use it to block door hatches or conceal surveillance cameras.
Yes, the fabric is completely liquid-proof, which protects the foam core. The outer layer is hard-wearing and designed to be easy to clean and disinfect using standard healthcare products.
The mattress has a surface layer made of an aramid-based composite material that is extremely hard-wearing (this material is also used in bulletproof vests and to reinforce concrete structures). The material has been specially developed to make deliberate damage more difficult in demanding environments.
