Hygiene mattress with documented extra-low pressure for wound categories 1–3

Air0 is one of our most advanced foam mattresses, developed with a focus on high patient comfort and documented pressure relief. The mattress has a laminated LENTEX hygiene cover that facilitates infection control and offers pressure-relieving properties verified through independent tests. Air0 is dimensioned to provide reliable support even for users with a body weight of up to 300 kg.

Engineered Construction

Air0 is constructed with a core of six carefully selected foam types that work together to allow for good immersion and envelopment. The construction provides extra low pressure on protruding body parts, such as heels and shoulders, meaning the mattress does not require a separate heel zone.
The unique LENTEX surface layer is laminated directly onto the foam core without zips or seams. This minimizes the risk of fluid ingress into the core and facilitates the detection of contamination thanks to the light and semi-transparent surface layer. The mattress is also tested and approved for use in automated bed and mattress washing systems.

STANDARD FOR OBJECTIVE EVALUATION

To obtain an objective assessment of the pressure-relieving properties of mattresses, RISE[1] developed a measurement method where the actual counter-pressure exerted by a mattress is measured using indenters. The measurement method is described in Swedish standard SS 876 00 13.
Lentex Air0 has been tested by RISE[1] according to measurement method SS 876 00 13 and is pressure-relieving up to and including Pressure ulcer category 3.

FAQ

Can Air0 be machine washed?

Yes, the product is approved for use in automated bed and mattress washing machines (e.g. Sonosteam/Semi Staal) without water penetrating the core.

Thanks to the combination of six foam layers and the flexible Lentex laminate, an exceptionally low pressure is measured across the entire surface, providing sufficient relief for the heels and shoulders without the need for local adjustments.

Air0 is designed to facilitate hygiene work through several interconnected technical solutions:

  • Seamless construction The mattress lacks both a zip and seams, eliminating the places where dirt and bacteria typically gather and reducing the risk of liquid penetrating the foam core.
  • More effective disinfection: According to independent studies, the unique structure of the surface layer means that the coating retains up to 73% more disinfectant during cleaning than traditional materials.
  • Visual check Thanks to the bright and semi-transparent laminate, the detection of both superficial dirt and any hidden contamination on the inside of the mattress is made easier.
  • Machine wash To save time and resources, Air0 is tested and approved for use in automated bed and mattress washing, enabling a standardised and efficient sanitisation process.
