Comfort

Hygiene mattress for shorter hospital stays and pressure ulcer category 1

Comfort is a sturdy base mattress designed for environments where ease of cleaning and good hygiene are key. The mattress combines a firmer foam core with the unique LENTEX surface layer, making it ideal for both care homes and hospitals where patients are occasionally out of bed and the need for hygienic control is crucial.

Designed for mobile patients and shorter hospital stays

Comfort consists of a core of 10 cm of highly elastic cold foam, which provides a firmer sleeping surface. The mattress is specifically designed for shorter periods of care and for patients with some mobility who are not bedridden around the clock. Despite its role as a base mattress, it has pressure-distributing properties that assist in the prevention of pressure ulcers up to and including stage 1.

The seamless outer layer of LENTEX is laminated directly onto the foam core. The absence of zips and seams protects the mattress core from liquid penetration and facilitates disinfection directly on the bed. The white, semi-transparent surface layer makes it easier for staff to inspect the mattress for contamination on the surface as well as within the core.

STANDARD FOR OBJECTIVE EVALUATION

To obtain an objective assessment of mattresses' pressure distribution properties, RISE[1] developed a measurement method where the actual counter-pressure exerted by a mattress is measured using indenters. The measurement method is described in Swedish standard SS 876 00 13.
Lentex Air0 has been tested by RISE[1] in accordance with measurement method SS 876 00 13 and provides pressure redistribution up to and including pressure ulcer category 1.

FAQ

For which patients is Comfort recommended?

It is best suited to patients with some mobility who are out of bed from time to time. For longer periods of care, or for patients who are bedridden around the clock, we recommend our more advanced options in the Lentex range, such as Soft Euroflex.

Comfort offers a firmer sleeping surface and is positioned as an effective base mattress for shorter periods of use. It meets the same high hygiene standards (LENTEX) as our other models, but features a foam core designed for lower pressure ulcer categories

This means that there are no gaps where liquids or dirt can get in. This extends the mattress’s lifespan and enables staff to disinfect the entire surface quickly and safely.
