Melissa Basic is a cost-effective base mattress, developed to offer good comfort and durability in environments with a lower risk of pressure ulcers. Thanks to its homogeneous core of cold foam, the mattress is both flipable and rotatable, which increases its lifespan, making it a reliable and economical solution for daily care.
The mattress has a homogeneous foam core which allows it to be rotated and fliped. This allows for a more even distribution of pressure across its surface. The Melissa Basic is designed to be a quiet companion for many years.
Melissa Basic comes with a cover from the RX series. A series of covers made from steam-permeable, waterproof and rustle-free 2-way stretch polyurethane fabric.
All covers feature an integrated protective zip flap.

STANDARD FOR OBJECTIVE EVALUATION
To obtain an objective assessment of mattresses' pressure distribution properties, RISE[1] developed a measurement method where the actual counter-pressure exerted by a mattress is measured using indenters. The measurement method is described in Swedish standard SS 876 00 13.

Yes, it works very well in both hospital settings and home care. Its light weight (approx. 7 kg) also makes it easy to manoeuvre and transport when necessary.
By allowing the mattress to be turned and rotated, pressure is distributed evenly across the foam. This prevents the mattress from losing its shape prematurely, making it last considerably longer than simpler foam mattresses that cannot be turned.
The RX cover is both liquid-tight and vapour-permeable, which protects the foam core from moisture while also contributing to a good skin microclimate.
