OptiCell Tender

Automated turning function with alternating pressure

The OptiCell Tender combines alternating pressure redistribution and automated patient turning within a single mattress system. Developed to support clinical workflows, the system is indicated for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers up to and including Category 4.

Automated Turning Function for Pressure Ulcer Prevention

For patients requiring regular repositioning, manual interventions can disrupt sleep patterns, which may impact physiological recovery and patient well-being. Clinical evidence underscores the role of sleep in healing processes and general health. The integrated turning function of the OptiCell Tender repositions the patient gradually and quietly, supporting undisturbed rest to facilitate recovery.

Three Biomechanical Properties

Utformningen av OptiCell Tender bygger på tre centrala biomekaniska egenskaper som är avgörande för att minska risken för trycksår, särskilt för långvariga patienter med nedsatt rörlighet eller känsel.

Principle sketch showing Immersion, where the body's weight causes it to sink into the mattress to allow for pressure distribution.

IMMERSION The system automatically adapts to the patient, maintaining low interface pressure regardless of patient weight. This redistributes pressure across a large surface area, reducing the load on vulnerable anatomical zones and enabling immersion to an individualised depth.

Embrace

ENVELOPMENT OptiCell Tenders" construction adapts to the body's contours, "enveloping" the patient with soft and even support to even out pressure peaks, thereby contributing to calm and stable comfort.

illustration repositioning

OptiCell Tender offers:

3-DIMENSIONELL TRYCKAVLASTNING FÖR GOD VÅRD!

  • 1D - Gentle turn: The mattress provides automated lateral turning either bilaterally or unilaterally. This function can be deactivated if required. The patient can be positioned in a 20–30° lateral tilt or a flat supine position.
  • 2D – Differential Pressure The air cells inflate and deflate alternately to mitigate the risk of pressure ulcer development.
  • 3D – Time: The system features selectable time intervals for both alternating pressure and turning cycles to support individualised clinical protocols.

CONSISTENT INTERFACE PRESSURE REGARDLESS FO PATIENT WEIGHT: thanks to the mattress's construction and the pump's operating method (ALP or CLP) which provides effective pressure relief for patients regardless of weight.
LOW-NOISE OPERATION AND TrueAlternating™ TECHNOLOGY: The low-noise pump manages air exchange quietly. Utilizing TrueAlternating™ technology, the cells reach optimal pressure overlap to maintain stability and patient rest without causing tactile discomfort.
CONFIGURABLE TURNING SCHEDULES: Selectable intervals of 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours allow customisation according to individualised care plans.

TARGETED PRESSURE OFFLOADING (Multi-Zone Relief): Individual air cells can be manually disconnected and deflated directly beneath the patient without the use of tools, eliminating interface pressure at specific anatomical sites.

FAQ

How does the integrated turning function work?

The mattress provides automated, gradual lateral turning, repositioning the patient into a 20–30° lateral tilt. This can be configured to operate bilaterally (both sides) or unilaterally (one side), alternating with a flat supine position. The turning cycles function at selectable intervals of 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours to support individualised repositioning schedules.

Yes, the system provides clinical versatility, effectively functioning as three mattress systems in one. The turning function can be operated concurrently with either the static or alternating pressure modes. Alternatively, the turning function can be completely deactivated if required, allowing the mattress to operate solely as a static or alternating pressure redistribution system.

Multi-Zone Relief enables targeted pressure offloading at specific anatomical sites by allowing individual air cells to be manually disconnected. This procedure is performed without the requirement for tools, even while the patient remains on the mattress.
