Soft Euroflex XP is developed for healthcare environments where both the highest evacuation readiness and strict infection control are required.
A technical challenge in manufacturing evacuation covers is that handles and straps must be sewn on to withstand the high tensile forces that occur in an emergency. These seams create small perforations in the fabric where bodily fluids risk penetrating and contaminating the mattress core.
Järven Health Care's XP solution eliminates this risk by first encasing the foam core with a seamless LENTEX laminate before the evacuation cover is placed over the top. This creates two hygiene barriers:
The mattress has a core with three layers of carefully selected foam types that provide a documented low back pressure for protruding body parts. This is achieved through immersion and envelopment, and supports the treatment of pressure sores up to and including category 3.
The evacuation sheet has been tested and approved according to Swedish Standard SS 876 00 39 to ensure strength and slideability on both wet and dry surfaces.
STANDARD FOR OBJECTIVE EVALUATION
To obtain an objective assessment of the pressure-relieving properties of mattresses, RISE[1] developed a measurement method where the actual counter-pressure exerted by a mattress is measured using indenters. The measurement method is described in Swedish standard SS 876 00 13.
Lentex Soft Euroflex XP has been tested by RISE[1] according to measurement method SS 876 00 13 and is pressure-relieving up to and including Pressure ulcer category 3.
